# Flippin Furniture

> Furniture restoration and refurbishment workshop in Bryanston, Johannesburg, South Africa. Solid wood furniture is collected, stripped back to the grain, repaired and refinished by hand, then delivered home. Run by Reynard du Toit and Kayla Krog.

## How it works
1. Send photos of the piece on WhatsApp or through the website form.
2. Get a written quote within 24 hours: level of work, extras and delivery in one price.
3. A deposit (50%) books the slot; the balance is paid after the customer approves photos of the finished piece.
4. Collection, workshop time (about one week for small pieces, two to three weeks for dining sets) and delivery.

## Service levels
- **Refresh:** Deep clean, light sand, small scratches and rings fixed, a new coat of oil or wax. For sound pieces that look tired.
- **Refinish:** Old finish stripped, sanded back to bare wood, stained or painted and sealed with two to three coats. Our most popular level.
- **Restore:** Everything in Refinish, plus repairs: loose joints re-glued, damage filled and patched, hardware restored or replaced.

- Paint instead of stain, or a two-tone finish: 15% extra, minimum R300

## Collection and delivery
Based in Bryanston; serves Johannesburg, mainly the northern suburbs: Sandton, Fourways, Randburg, Rivonia, Sunninghill, Lonehill, Midrand, Northcliff and Rosebank.
- Zone A (up to 15 km from the workshop): R450 per trip by bakkie, R850 by truck
- Zone B (15 to 30 km from the workshop): R700 per trip by bakkie, R1,200 by truck
- Zone C (30 to 50 km from the workshop): R1,050 per trip by bakkie, R1,750 by truck
- Customers can also drop off and collect themselves, by appointment.

## What we work on
Solid wood and good veneer: dining tables and chairs, chests of drawers, dressers, sideboards, desks, bedside tables, coffee tables and wardrobes. South African woods such as kiaat, Rhodesian teak, stinkwood, yellowwood, imbuia, saligna and blackwood, and imported oak, teak, walnut, mahogany and meranti. Not chipboard or MDF, and no upholstery apart from dining chair seats.

## Why
Good wood doesn't wear out; it needs looking after. Restoring furniture people already own costs a fraction of buying new, and keeps solid wood in use and out of landfill.
